How it works
Lists, leaderboard, stats, awards, tournaments and chat commands in a nutshell
1. Lists
A list is a leaderboard of TFT players: your group of friends, a community, a team, the streamers you follow. Sign up for free and from the members' area you can:
- add players by Riot ID (
Name#TAG) and server, one at a time or by importing a CSV file; - make it public: anyone with the link can see it and it shows up in Lists. A private list is visible only to you and your collaborators;
- add collaborators who can manage it with you;
- pick the list's address, for example
tftarena.net/pt/l/your-group; - download the leaderboard as Excel or CSV with the Export button.
Join requests
In public lists that accept them, anyone with a verified account can ask to join with the button on the list page. Requests also come from Twitch chat. The owner and collaborators find them in the list's Requests tab (with a notification) and decide who gets in. Requests can be switched off in the list settings.
If you are a player, you can verify your account under My Riot accounts: a ✔ appears next to your name and you can link your Twitch and X profiles.
2. The leaderboard
Players are sorted by their current ranked rank: tier, division and LP. Players with no ranked games this set go to the bottom.
Master and above also show their ladder position on their server (for example #1,234 EUW).
Above the leaderboard you'll find some filters:
- Minimum rank: only players from a given tier up;
- ● Live: who is streaming on Twitch right now;
- 🏆 In the running for an award: who is leading an award in the current patch (the icons next to the name tell you which);
- ✔ Verified: only players who verified their account.
If a player is playing a game right now, you'll see in game next to their name.
On the home page two bands show the streamers live right now (with title, viewers and current game) and the players in game. In the top bar, Lists opens the lists you visited last.
3. Periods: set and patch
Stats and awards are always calculated over a period, chosen with the selector at the top of the page:
- Whole set: since the start of the current set. It's the default for the leaderboard and profiles;
- a patch (for example 18.2): from its release day to the release of the next one. List stats open on the latest patch.
Patch dates come automatically from Riot's official schedule. Only ranked games count: normal, Hyper Roll, Double Up and events are left out. The rank reset at the start of a set doesn't count as lost LP.
4. List stats
The Stats tab shows, all for the selected period:
- Awards
- the winners of the latest completed periods (patch and set). See below.
- Rank distribution
- how many players are in each tier.
- Form
- best average placement, most top 4s and most wins. At least 5 ranked games in the period are required.
- LP change
- who climbed and who dropped the most, in LP (a whole division is worth 100 LP). Only when you look at a patch: it isn't shown for the whole set.
- List meta
- the most played champions, carries (champions with 3 items) and traits among the list's players, with games, average placement and top 4 rate. The Δ column is the difference from the list's average placement: negative = better than average, positive = worse. Columns are sortable; when sorting by average, top 4 or Δ, entries with fewer than 3 games go to the bottom.
- Rivalries
- the pairs of players who met most often in the same lobby (at least 3 games together) and who finished ahead more often.
- Activity
- games played today, the most active players in the period and who is live.
5. Awards
At the end of every patch and set, each list gives out awards to its players, using only that period's ranked games. Periods count from Set 18 onwards.
| Award | Who wins it | Minimum patch / set |
|---|---|---|
| 👑 MVP | Best average placement. On a tie, whoever played more. | 8 / 30 games |
| 📈 Escalador | Most LP gained in the patch. Patch award only. | — |
| 🥇 Rei dos primeiros lugares | Most first places. | — |
| ⚔️ Justiceiro | Best head-to-head balance against the other players in the list (see below). | 3 / 5 rivals |
| 🥊 Saco de pancada | The opposite: the worst head-to-head balance. | 3 / 5 rivals |
| ⚙️ Incansável | Most games played. | — |
| 🧊 Tilt | Longest streak of bottom 4s in a row (5th to 8th place). | 3 / 5 in a row |
How head-to-heads work
Whenever two players from the list end up in the same lobby, whoever finishes ahead gets +1 and the other −1. For each rival we take the balance (times ahead minus times behind), with two adjustments so that the winner is whoever beats many different opponents, not whoever keeps meeting the same one:
- each rival is worth at most ±4 in a patch and ±8 in a set;
- pairs who play as a duo don't count: if two players shared a lobby in more than 50% of both players' games, their head-to-heads are ignored.
The final score is the sum of the balances against every rival. The awards table shows the score and against how many rivals.
When they are awarded
- During the patch the leaderboard shows who is leading right now, with the 🏆 In the running for an award filter. It isn't an award yet: it can change until the last game;
- at the end of the patch or set awards become final. They are recorded every night, shortly after midnight (Italian time);
- the final awards of the latest patch and set appear in the list's stats, and every award won stays in the player's trophy case on their profile.
If nobody reaches the minimum (for example nobody played 8 games in a patch), that award is not given for that period.
6. Player profiles
Click a player to open their profile:
- Matches: current rank and latest games;
- Stats: games, average placement and top 4 rate, placement distribution, most played champions, traits and items, rank history this set, rivals and the trophy case with every award won. Here too you can pick the whole set or a single patch.
From each game you can open the lobby details, with placements, traits, champions and items for all 8 players.
7. Tournaments
A list's owner and collaborators can run a tournament with its players: from the list, Generate lobbies. You pick who takes part (leaving out who isn't playing) and the format. Each list has one tournament at a time.
- Single elimination
- Players are split at random into lobbies of up to 8, as even as possible (at least 4 per lobby: 9 players become 5+4, not 8+1). At each stage you enter the placements and choose who goes through: TFT Arena suggests the top N of each lobby, but you can change it by hand. Whoever goes through is reshuffled into new lobbies, up to the final.
- Swiss system
- Nobody is eliminated: you play a number of rounds set at the start (usually 4) and every placement gives points: 1st = 8, 2nd = 7 … 8th = 1. Lobbies are always full (8 players), so you need 8, 16, 24… players. From the second round lobbies are built snake-style from the standings (1st in lobby 1, 2nd in lobby 2… then back), so they are balanced. Ties are broken by wins, then top 4s, then the last round. After the last round the top 8 play the final.
- Checkmate final (Swiss)
- The final is replayed game after game, counting only the final's points. Whoever reaches the threshold (usually 20 points) is in checkmate: they win the tournament the first time they come 1st after reaching it.
- Players who skip a game are marked didn't play: they get 0 points;
- if you made a mistake, Undo last stage (or round, or game) goes back with the previous placements;
- the tournament's public page (a link to share, visible only to whoever has it) shows lobbies and standings and refreshes by itself: tap a name to copy the Riot ID and invite each other in game without typing it. Find your name highlights your lobby;
- from Export you can download an Excel file or create a Google Sheet in your Drive with the standings, one tab per stage and the players. The Google Sheet updates itself at every stage change. TFT Arena only asks to manage the files it creates, it can't see the rest of your Drive.
8. Requests from Twitch chat
Streamers can let viewers ask to join a list straight from chat: a viewer types for example !aggiungi Name#TAG
and a join request is created. You set it up in the members' area, Twitch bot page, in two ways:
- with Nightbot or StreamElements (recommended): use the bot you already have; TFT Arena gives you the command to paste in chat to create it, nothing to connect;
- with the TFT Arena bot, if you use neither Nightbot nor StreamElements: connect your Twitch channel and the bot joins the chat (it's made a moderator automatically) and replies.
You can create several commands, one per list (for example !aggiungi and !friends), choosing the leading symbol too.
The same command can't be used twice. The bot checks that the account exists on EUW and isn't already in the list or pending;
the request lands in the Requests tab with the name of who asked in chat. From chat anyone can ask for any account,
so it's up to you to accept it.
Against spam, for each command: 3 requests a day per chat user and 30 an hour in total.
9. How often data updates
| Rank and games of players in lists | every hour |
| Player just added to a list | right after being added, then every hour |
| Player not in any list | when someone opens their profile (at most every 30 minutes) |
| Live on Twitch | every 2 minutes |
| Game in progress | every 5 minutes |
| Final awards | every night, shortly after midnight |
| Tournament public page | every 30 seconds, by itself |
| Tournament Google Sheet | at every stage change (or when you update it) |
Data comes from the official Riot Games APIs: if Riot is slow, updates may be a little delayed.
10. FAQ
- I played but I can't see my games.
- Wait for the next update (at most one hour) and check they were ranked games: other modes aren't counted.
- Why didn't I win an award even though I was leading the "in the running" ranking?
- During the patch the ranking changes game after game: only whoever leads when the patch ends wins.
- A friend and I always play together: do our head-to-heads count for the Justiceiro?
- No: if you shared a lobby in more than 50% of both your games, you count as a duo and your head-to-heads are ignored.
- Why can't I start a Swiss tournament with 20 players?
- In the Swiss system every lobby must be full (8 players), so you need multiples of 8. With other numbers use single elimination, which splits players into balanced lobbies.
- The chat command doesn't reply.
- On the Twitch bot page check that the command is on and has a list. With the TFT Arena bot the channel must show Active; with Nightbot or StreamElements the command must be created in the bot with the text TFT Arena gives you.
